WHY TKIS PREP-PRIMARY? :

Why TKIS Prep-Primary?

Our Prep-Primary School offers a strong foundation in academics, an almost 'old-fashioned' focus on numeracy and literacy (including a return to the practice of memorising multiplication tables, the use of phonics to develop literacy and reading skills, etc), composite classes to provide a rich learning environment and small class sizes within a friendly 'village' atmosphere. Our Primary School also benefits from its ability to access a wealth of specialised teaching and facility strengths from our High School. (For example our Primary students have direct access to specialist teachers in music, art, drama, athletics, swimming, science, languages and technology.)

Being a Prep-12 school, one of the other advantages of our Primary School is its ability to offer an uninterrupted progression from Junior Primary school right through to Senior High School without leaving our campus. Issues with the Year 7 Transition to high school are virtually non-existent at TKIS.

DIGITAL LEARNING : We should point out, that in spite of our Primary School's unashamed preference towards the 'old-fashioned' strengths of English and Mathematics in our curriculum, our classrooms are being continually modernised. All rooms are air-conditioned and we have a number of new Digital Learning Labs dedicated for Primary School use. Through the Federal Government's BER initiative, our Primary School recently benefited from an indoor sports complex including heated swimming pool and indoor tennis court. Play areas are both covered and uncovered, our daily school canteen menu benefits from our affiliation with our High School's international boarding facility which boasts a full commercial kitchen and we have access to a modern library and a range of other facilities courtesy of our association with our big brothers and sisters in our attached High School.

Our Prep-Primary is a perfect choice if you're looking for a small school that is able to provide personal attention in safe, secure surroundings, a strong academic focus PLUS a broader range of cultural and sporting facilities than would otherwise be available to such a small school.

Fees are reasonable and can be paid through Direct Debit Authorities either weekly, fortnightly, monthly or by term or year. Local students can apply for Bursary Scholarships which reduce fees even further. Commercial bus services operate throughout the Beaudesert, Rathdowney and Jimboomba regions, and the school operates its own daily bus route from Boonah.
